HOW DOES ACUPUNCTURE WORK?
The goal of acupuncture is to activate the natural, self-healing abilities of the body. There are 14 main meridians (or channels) that run throughout our bodies. Through these main meridians and lesser channels, Qi (our body’s vital energy) is able to course throughout our entire body, much like blood travels the whole body via our vascular systems. About 400 acupuncture points lay on these meridians – each one having a specific function. When these acupoints are stimulated by acupuncture needles, they prompt the body to carry out their designated function, activating our self-healing abilities.

WHAT DOES ACUPUNCTURE TREAT?

IS ACUPUNCTURE SAFE?
Yes. Licensed acupuncturist Jessie Siers has extensive training in acupuncture safety. In addition, all needles used at Luna Acupuncture are sterile and one-time-use only.

DOES ACUPUNCTURE HURT?
The needles used in acupuncture are hair-thin and most people feel no unpleasant sensations from them. At worst, patients liken the insertion to a mosquito bite - no discomfort is experienced while the needles are retained. Patients leave their acupuncture treatments feeling very relaxed.

Do I need a referral?
Has my deductible been met?
Do I have a co-pay?
How many visits am I allowed per calendar year?
